How does color extraction work?

The tool uses median-cut quantization to identify the most dominant colors in the image. It samples pixels and groups them by similarity.

What output formats are available?

JSON (structured with HEX and RGB values), plain text (one color per line), or SVG (visual swatches with color labels).

How many colors can I extract?

Between 2 and 16 colors. The default of 6 works well for most images. More colors capture subtle variations.
